Today, the Web3 space is developing fast, but for many women entering the space, the hardest part is knowing where to start and who to start with.
In this interview for the Women Leading the Way series, the Drofa Comms team spoke with Camilla Parisotto and Florence Vuong, Founders of Babes net, a cross-chain community bringing women together across the Web3 industry.
Neither founder came from traditional finance. Camilla spent three and a half years at Bloomberg before going all in on Web3 in 2021, founding her own marketing agency. Florence came from e-commerce and marketing, drawn in by the entrepreneurial energy of the space. What united them was a shared observation: the women were already there, building real things — they just had no way to find each other.
“The women were there, building incredible things, but everything was fragmented, with no real thread tying it together. Babes net has become that missing piece, so now we are just connecting what already exists,” says Camilla.
The idea took shape at EthCC, where a nail salon event left Florence thinking about how rare it is for women to feel genuinely at home at industry gatherings. In the interview, both founders talk about what makes a community actually work: authenticity, structure, and the kind of warmth that turns a group chat into real friendships.
They also reflect on why Babes net is intentionally cross-chain — not competing with other women's communities, but sitting among all of them. In just three months, the project reached 500 members, with chapters already forming in cities around the world.
On women in Web3, both are direct about what the industry can lose by keeping women's voices out. As Florence puts it, “Web3 is finally maturing to a point where people are building real products for the real world. And in the real world, women drive 80% of consumer spending and make up more than half of the population.”
