On 24 June, Communicate Fintech by Drofa Comms welcomed its first attendees at a launch event at Rise, created by Barclays. The event featured insights from prominent communications professionals Amanda Wick, Alys Key, Amélie Arras, and Duarte Garrido, who discussed executive presence and personal branding.
Amanda Wick emphasised that building a personal brand as an executive always begins with the individual. She outlined three critical levels to focus on: physiology, phraseology, and psychology. While the first two can be improved through practice, the mindset requires ongoing effort. Amanda highlighted that empathy, integrity, curiosity, and authenticity remain some of the key qualities to attract people.
A panel discussion with Alys Key, Amélie Arras, and Duarte Garrido tackled the complexities of leveraging the personal brands of founders and executives. They discussed the potential pitfalls of having a founder as the main spokesperson, key personal characteristics for building a successful personal brand, and effective strategies for embedding the executive's personal brand into the entire communications plan with minimal risk.
As a starting point for Communicate Fintech, we've also organised a WhatsApp group for early announcements, fresh ideas, and enhanced collaboration on fintech communication. To join, please contact our Executive Director Masha Balanovich – masha@drofa-ra.co.uk.
We've created Communicate Fintech as a platform dedicated to fintech brands and narratives. It integrates a series of events, webinars, and interviews uniting fintech opinion leaders, founders, and marketing professionals.
