Rachel is the Vice President at terahash.space, a German startup focused on localising Bitcoin mining infrastructure in Europe. She also serves as Chair of the European Bitcoin Energy Association. There, she advocates for smarter, more sustainable energy use through Bitcoin mining. On top of that, she’s the co-founder of Les Femmes Orange, a grassroots movement designed to educate and empower women in the Bitcoin space.
From Education to Bitcoin: A Nontraditional Path
Rachel’s entry into Bitcoin wasn’t linear — and that’s exactly what makes her journey so compelling. With a background in international education and nonprofit governance, it wasn’t until 2017 (prompted by her teenage son’s curiosity) that she began to explore the world of Bitcoin. It would take a few more years — and a global pandemic — before she truly understood its potential.
What began as an interest in sound money quickly became a mission. She strives to help shape Bitcoin’s role in transforming global energy systems, and to bring more women along with her.
Creating Community Through Les Femmes Orange
One of Rachel’s most impactful initiatives is Les Femmes Orange. This is a women-led education movement she co-founded to close the gender gap in Bitcoin. What started as a small weekend retreat has since grown into a vibrant network hosting meetups, book clubs, Telegram communities, and online education sessions.
With no hierarchy, no legal structure, and just one guiding principle — Bitcoin only — she builds the movement on cooperation, curiosity, and inclusion.
“Bitcoin is tailor-made for women,” Rachel says. “It gives us the tools to reclaim our time, energy, and financial independence.”
Advocating for Women in Bitcoin Leadership
Rachel is clear-eyed about the challenges women face in entering and staying in the Bitcoin space — from time constraints to lack of financial education. But she’s equally passionate about the opportunities.
She believes women are essential to Bitcoin’s cultural adoption. With their natural strengths as communicators, connectors, and caregivers, women bring a perspective the ecosystem urgently needs — one rooted in trust, empathy, and long-term thinking.
“There can’t be mass adoption if half the population is left behind,” — she says.
