After 30 years in traditional finance, she made one conscious step towards digital assets and never regretted it. Caroline didn’t start over, as she came into the industry with a ready-made set of skills that she desperately lacked.
In an interview, she mentioned which assumption turned out to be the most difficult to rethink. In TradFi, many mistakenly think that process maturity is automatically equal to control. But according to her, a two-page policy that everyone really follows works better than a fifty-pager that no one reads.
The conversation also touches on the culture within crypto companies versus traditional institutions and why, on an institutional scale, SCRYPT is built around three pillars. As Caroline puts it, the company must be ready for an audit that it has not yet been asked for.
We also discussed the European MiCA and how the new regulatory landscape is changing SCRYPT’s strategy. We also touched on why, in Caroline’s opinion, the next year and a half will bring healthy consolidation to the market.
At the end of the interview, she gives advice to women considering the same transition from traditional finance into digital assets.
